Introduction

Instructions for initial setup

The meter must be congured prior to initial use. During

this setup, the following parameters are congured:

n Date and time format

n Input mode for Patient ID

n Input mode for Operator ID

n Glucose controls: Type and schedule

n Results screen for glucose control

n Comments for entry after a test

n Settings for data transfer

You can perform these settings on a limited basis directly

in the Setup Menu of the meter. For more information

about conguration using the Setup Menu, see Chapter 9,

as well as Appendix A. In addition to this option, the meter

can be congured using a data man agement system.

Suitable data management systems provide a range of

functions for conguring the meter that go beyond what

is possible with the meter-based conguration feature.

For questions about using data management systems,

contact your Roche representative (see Chapter 12).

To ensure standardized conguration within a facility,

the meter-based Setup Menu may be disabled.
